Here is the Solar Updraft Tower prototype in Manzanares, Spain.
This solar power structure is super basic and really low cost to maintain. A vast field of plastic panels lie low over the ground and this heats up the air in between similar to a greenhouse. A tower allows the warm air to rise and rush past turbines which in turn create electricity. That’s pretty much it. The only moving parts are the turbines.
